On this nature hike we will explore the diminutive world of non-flowering plants with Maine Master Naturalist instructor Jeff Pengel. We will examine elfin sized lichens, liverworts, and mosses, plus clubmosses and of course, the ferns. Bring a hand lens if you have one, otherwise we'll provide a loaner. James McCarthy Exhibit: Canadian Rockies

Though this is not a CREA-sponsored event, Jim McCarthy is a frequent speaker and photography walk leader on the Cathance Preserve, and is CREA's "photographer laureate."  His new exhibit is entitled Canadian Rockies: Mountains and Rivers Without End, and will be at the Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick from June 2nd through 30th in the Morell Meeting Room.  The opening reception will be on Friday, June 8, from 5-8 pm, with a gallery talk on the exhibit at 6:30 pm.
