What can we learn from a wildflower? That’s the common interest of Lisa Durrell and James McCarthy, who will lead a spring wildflower walk along the Heath Trail within the Cathance River Nature Preserve in Topsham on Sunday, May 26, from 10 a.m. to noon. Jeff Pengel was trained as a botanist and geologist at The University of Akron. Jeff taught earth science and biology in an urban Cincinnati Ohio public school. He also worked many seasons as an outdoor educator for Nature's Classroom in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Jeff now volunteers as a naturalist for the Appalachian Mountain Club at many of their facilities.
