Research at the Cathance River Preserve: Projects completed by Mt Ararat Honors Biology Students in the Fall of 2017

This past fall, Honors Biology students from Mt Ararat High School chose a topic to research at the Cathance River Preserve. Working in 7 small groups, they chose research questions and collected scientific data to address these questions at least once a week in September and October at the Preserve. Projects included learning about the water quality of the Cathance River, salamanders, bats, vernal pools, river invertebrates, mammals and forest growth. Snowshoeing with Heather

Join Heather Goulette for a gentle snowshoe walk along the trails of the Cathance River Preserve. Bring your own snowshoes or use ours (for free!). Dress warmly in layers (preferably not cotton), wear hiking boots, bring a backpack with extra clothes and water. All levels are welcome.
