 Franklin Burroughs taught English at Bowdoin College from 1968 until his retirement in 2002. He has written Billy Watson’s Croker Sack (1991); Horry and the Waccamaw (1992—subsequently republished as The River Home) and Confluence: Merrymeeting Bay (2006). In addition to these books, he has published a good many long essays in literary quarterlies.
