Invasive Species, Their Impacts on our Environment, and Tips for Gardening

Co-sponsored by CREA and Green Steps, this is the third in a series of presentations by speakers from the Nature Conservancy.

Maine’s natural environment is impacted by invasive plants and insects. We’ll talk about some of the most widespread and aggressive invasive species, Maine laws related to invasive species, and how you can garden to minimize your impact on our native landscape.

Nancy Sferra is the Director of Stewardship and Ecological Management for The Nature Conservancy in Maine. She is a wildlife biologist by training with extensive experience with preserve management including trail construction and maintenance, invasive weed management, wetland restoration, and ecological monitoring.
