Ecology — A New Way to Pose Alternatives
September 18, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
John Rensenbrink, co-founder of CREA (Cathance River Education Alliance) and Professor Emeritus of Government and Legal Studies at Bowdoin College, will offer a talk on Tuesday, September 18 at the Topsham Public Library, 6:30-7:30 pm. He will speak on “Ecology – A New Way To Pose Alternatives,” drawing from his newly published book “Ecological Politics For Survival and Democracy.” The book at the reduced price of $25 will be available to be signed by the author.
Our nation and the world at large as well, Rensenbrink argues, suffers from reactive opposites that skew policy making, education, and political party elections. After identifying several such opposites, Rensenbrink shows how the vision and practice of the CREA program furnishes a model of how to deal with and transcend embedded opposites in our culture, politics, and schooling.
This program is free and open to all. Registration is not needed.
