We welcome your class, or program, to come and learn what the Cathance River Ecology Center and nearby 230 acre Preserve has to offer. We have about 1,000 students visit the Preserve annually so we have developed instructions and procedures to ensure a safe and productive visit. The visitation procedures are outlined below.

Reservations must be made by all visiting schools and programs regardless if they are public or private or using only the Preserve! Call 798-1913 to make reservations - Thank You!

Our Ecology Center was created based on the principles of conservation and sustainability. We encourage all visitors to apply these same principles when hiking the nearby Preserve. Please leave no trace as you hike our trails and be mindful of the items outlined below. Highland Green is a private Active Adult Community that has both public and private areas. Though the trails and golf course are public, the roads are private, and courtesy and safety should rule the day when one is traveling through the community towards the Ecology Center parking area. The community speed limit is 25 mph!

Highland Green residents have been huge supporters of CREA's mission. Many are members, and many volunteer countless hours on trail maintenance and assist with Ecology Center programs. Highland Green has become a big part of the Brunswick-Topsham community by being open and receptive to the general public, allowing visitors to share their trails and golf course. You will most likely encounter residents hiking amongst the trails so please be courteous.
