Why become a member?

CREA is a 501(c) 3 Non Profit Organization and your contributions are tax deductible.

The true benefit of memberships and sponsorships are that you become part of the team. CREA relies on your memberships and sponsorships to get projects done. Being part of the team can mean volunteering, contributing financially, or both. Your membership money stays local and assists us in providing services to the citizens of Mid-Coast Maine as well as the students of the Topsham, Brunswick, Harpswell, Bowdoin, Bowdoinham and Bath School districts.

Operating costs such as insurance and maintenance of the Ecology center, trail maintenance, field study equipment, building bridges, trail signs and maps, programming for teachers and students, compensation of our hard working Executive Director, bi-annual newsletters and office expenses are managed from your gifts and membership dues.

If our Ecology Center or nearby Preserve has enriched your life, please consider a gift to CREA. Gifts may be given to support current operations, educational programs, research projects, capital expenses, or to help establish an endowment.

Become a member and give annually
Your Annual Fund gift will help to support the CREA programs that need it most. We currently have over 250 members just like you!

Leave a Bequest
Members who make planned gifts receive recognition in our annual report and invitations to special events and activities. The Merrymeeting Bay Trust was established by Eleanor Burke who, through her planned giving, has made a tremendous impact upon CREA and other groups interested in preserving and educating about Merrymeeting Bay.

Stocks
We often accept gifts of stock. This is another easy way to help support CREA. Contact us and we will send you the necessary information that makes this process as easy as writing a check.
